Show Critiques for Shaymiloney Solsilvanus

A selection of Louis critiques;

Smashing black who I really liked, smashing head, super eye colour and kind expression, super reachy strong neck, good through shoulder and has lovely bone and correct shaped feet, strong short coupled body with super coat and very good tail, moved soundly and very true, carrying the correct amount of weight for me but he felt the heat in the challenge and was just pipped by the eventual RCC winner.
Caron Morton, Bournemouth Championship show, 14th August 2016

Quality classic black Labrador, nothing flashy or overdone & built on clean lines, lovely head with kind & gentle expression, good reach of neck, well constructed throughout, good spring of rib, firm top line, good tail set, well developed quarters. In good coat & condition. Presented a balanced outline & moved well especially in profile.
Alison Scutcher, North West Labrador Retriever Club Championship Show, 4th October 2015

Black. 3 years old and just coming to his prime. Superb breed type – masculine head without a trace of coarseness, excellent coat and tail. On good legs and feet. Compact and yet well made and balanced all through. Moved well.
Lesley Dantinnes, Northumberland and Durham Labrador Championship Show, 3rd October 2015

Black of excellent type. I think he has the most gorgeous head & expression which gave him the edge. Correctly constructed throughout presenting a pleasing outline. Just needed a little more depth to his coat to finish the picture. Moved very well & a lot to like about him.

Nothing exaggerated about this strong well built & well presented happy black dog. Masculine head with depth & width, eyes expressing intelligence & good temper, ears set close to head & set back. Clean reach of neck set into well placed shoulders. Chest of good width & depth, well sprung barrel ribs, strong rear quarters, good tail & hocks well let down. In good coat & hard condition. Moved with drive on round tight feet & at one with handler. Pleased to award him BOB and see him take 3rd in show.

Black with beautiful head & expression which eventually won him the class. He is not a big dog but he is well put together. Deep chest, good rib. Short coupled, good quarters.

Yolanda Shirton, South Wales Kennel Association, 11th October 2013

Black dog in super condition, just at that boyish stage of being a little full of himself at times. A very typy, kind head with good eye colour, masculine without being overdone or coarse; super coat & a correct otter tail furnish a nicely made dog with good bone, angulation & feet who looks like he could do a day’s work with ease. He still has a long way to go to maturity but is going in the right direction; he just needs to learn to settle a bit better to make the most of his movement. BOB
Fiona Maclean, Burnley, 21st September 2013

Nice black, strong head but not overdone, strong neck into good shoulders, good bone & straight in front, level top line with good spring of rib, loins wide short coupled. Moved well.
Frank Gilroy, Darlington Championship Show, 15th September 2013

A compact black of good type. Attractive head with kind expression, good eye shape, strong neck into well placed shoulders, deep through chest, good short couplings. Correctly angulated hindquarters. Correct double coat. He isn’t a big dog & it was a difficult decision over the second however I felt that his movement particularly on the front gave him the edge.
Jane Rawlinson, United Retriever Club, 14th August 2013

I really liked this black dog. He was not as mature as the first placed but I am sure he will finish very well. He moved really well, arguably the best in the class and one of the best of the day. Lovely correctly proportioned head, kind expression and eye which won him his position in the class. Good length of neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Excellent coat and tail. Good bone a correct, compact, strong feet. I would have preferred a little more second thigh but there is time for this to develop more fully yet.
Joy Venturi Rose, Windsor, 27th June 2013

Quite a different sort of puppy to the winner, but had good balance overall. A bit younger too which makes a difference at this age. He has a pleasant head and expression and a good reach of neck. His coat was a good texture and he moved well. In proportion for his age.
Mrs L J Kent, Bath Canine Society, 25th May 2013

Balanced, clean lined black with an alert expression. Good reach of neck and depth of chest. Well muscled hindquarters. Showed well.
Mrs S Wiles, Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show, 18th May 2013

10 month old black labrador, good outline and angulation, good shoulders and front, typically never stopped wagging his tail.
Ann Goodman, North West Canine Association, 5th May 2013

Only a baby, but a delight. Grand character and expression. Liked his head. Well off for bone, good feet. Happy on the move, plenty of confidence.
Mrs M Hathaway, Kent Surrey and Sussex Labrador Retriever Club, 31st March 2013
